Reporters without Borders every year compiles and publishes a ranking of countries based on the organization’s assessment of their press freedom records. The latest ranking was published in October this year.
Thanks to a questionnaire sent to partner organizations, 130 worldwide correspondents, journalists, researchers, human rights activists and jurists the organization collects all the data required for the ranking.
On this page of the site, viewers can access the ranking of the year. In addition, they have access to the questionnaire used to collect the data. Moreover, there is a link called “close-up”. This link provides yearly information on each country, based on its location in the world in the form of a report, followed by the latest articles concerning the same country. In addition, if the viewer wants, he can share the information with other people thanks to links to Facebook for example. I found this application very useful as sharing information is the main essence of a journalist’s work.
